
Prof Pradeep Kumar Mishra is currently serving as Vice Chancellor, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, UP. He has also served Jharkhand Technical University, Ranchi as Vice Chancellor prior to this. He is former head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Dean Student affairs at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. He holds Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Masters from IIT Bombay and PhD from IIT (BHU) Varanasi. After brief instinct in Industries Prof Mishra joined teaching at IIT BHU Varanasi in January 1997. He has been placed to HAG scale in 2016 recognizing his academic and R&D contributions. Prof Mishra has published more than 100 papers in SCI journals and filed 6 patents. He has authored/edited more than 20 books and contributed scores of chapters in books/encyclopaedias. He has also successfully completed sponsored research project and consultancy worth more than 20 crores from DST, NSTEDB, CPCB, DBT, AICTE New Delhi, and NCL Singrauli etc.
Vice Chancellor Message
Prof P K Mishra is actively contributing to the area of Bioenergy and wastewater treatment in addition to biocompatible materials. Looking to his expertise in the area of wastewater and effluent treatment processes, he was appointed Chairman to the committee for formulation of disposal standard to textile industries. He has also been members to two other important committees, which formulated charters for Distilleries and Sugar Industries. Prof P K Mishra and his team at IIT (BHU) Varanasi has been extensively engaged by CPCB for monitoring of majority of GPIS at Ganga Basin from 2018 onwards. Prof Mishra is also member of prestigious Expert Appraisal Committee for Industry-3 of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Prof P K Mishra has organized over 50 Conferences/Seminars/Workshops and numerous training programs/summer schools in the area of Energy/Environment/Entrepreneurship in addition to Chemical Engineering. Prof P K Mishra is also helping Municipal Corporation and Jal Nigam by organizing training programs in association with JAICA. Local MSMEs have also benefited immensely with the timely suggestion and consultancy of Dr P K Mishra. Prof Mishra and his group is also working for the preservation of the culture of Varanasi through digitization as web (www.kashikatha.com), which is even referred by Bharat Kosh. Currently Prof Mishra is also in the process of establishing Skill Development Ashrams at three places in Varanasi & Mirjapur of UP.
